Can’t decide on the type of engagement ring you should get? You can always count on Pinterest to lend some inspiration. And according to their 2018 wedding trend report, these three trends have ballooned in popularity over the past year. Scroll the galleries to check them out.

#1 Moissanite gems

Moissanite is a naturally-occurring mineral also known as silicon carbide. But the natural stone is incredibly rare, so the moissanite we have today was created in a laboratory. It’s typically engineered to be as sparkly as a diamond, and most people aren’t able to tell the difference between the two. The best part? It’s eco-friendly (because it has minimal impact on the environment) and is less expensive than a diamond

#2 Art Deco-inspired

A style that emerged in the mid 1920s, Art Deco is often characterised by its bold geometric lines and opulent industrial-esque style. They come in vintage-inspired styles and more often than not, glamorously dramatic. The most popular centre stone for an Art Deco ring is a diamond, but rubies, sapphires and emeralds are also commonplace. If you’re looking for something with antique charm, this is just the type to go for.

#3 Oval shapes

Stacking done right!

These usually feature oval diamonds. The elegant shape is a nice alternative to the more common round cut. They’re just the thing if you want a ring with modern shape but traditional light refraction. They also help give the illusion of a longer finger, so it’s perfect if you’re conscious of shorter fingers. And ICYMI, Kate Middleton wears one – it was Princess Diana’s ring. So if you can imagine, this is one regal ring.
