1. Cleanse thoroughly
Pimples are the cause of impurities in your skin, so use a cleanser that does its job well, like the Kohaku Hada Facial Cleanser, a product that promises to remove stubborn makeup, excess sebum, and impurities gently.
2. Tone up
A good one will help calm the affected area, but take note to use one with little to no alcohol in its formula, as they can be drying. Consider alternatives like Burt’s Bees Nourishing Facial Water that helps hydrate and soothe skin. It’s also light enough for other products to be applied on after.
3. Moisturise
Whether you’ve got oily or dry skin, moisturizing is a must, as it protects and keeps skin healthy. Consider those that help cell rejuvenation such like Shiseido’s Future Solution LX for Day, Belif’s Peat miracle revival cream, Dermalogica’s Dynamic Skin Recovery and The Face Shop’s Moisture-Holding Seed Cream.
4. Pimple cream
No, we’re not referring to the ones you used to use as a teenager. These ones, like DrGL’s Skin Repair solution, Shiseido’s Ibuki Multi Solution Gel and Dr. Belter Cosmetic’s Line A Clarity Concentrate help clear your spots almost instantly. All three help reduce impurities, replenishes cells and deliver results almost instantly.
5. Masks on, please
Masks are a great solution for instant results, as they’re packed with a higher percentage of ingredients as compared to creams. Use them diligently a few days before your big day (or depending on how often you’re allowed to). In this instance, you’ll want to use a mask that packs on the goodies, hydrates and improves skin overall like DRx’s Derma RX Cellulose Facial Mask and For Beloved One’s Extreme Hydration Bio Cellulose Mask.
6. Conceal
If all else fails, light foundation and a good concealer is all you need, really. Our favourites: Marc Jacobs Remedy Concealer Pen, Diorskin Star Concealer and Foundation, VDL Beauty Metal Cushion Foundation, Kose Infinity Moisture Concentrate Foundation.
