GIRDLE
This is where the top part of the diamond meets the bottom part of the diamond. It’s the line (or edge) where the prongs grasp the diamond.

PAVILION
The bottom part of the stone below the girdle.

CROWN
Like the crown worn on the head, the crown of the diamond refers to the top part of the diamond

CULET
It’s the point at the bottom of the diamond. If the diamond is cut well, the point will be seen as a speck when viewed from the top.  If the point is larger and more visible, then the diamond is considered less valuable.

SCINTILLATION

DISPERSION
Flashes of rainbow colours seen by the eye. Also known as ‘fire’, it is the result of a diamond’s proportions and symmetry.
