So we’ve listed down a few resolutions brides should pay heed to if they want their wedding planning to be a smooth and happy experience. But a wedding is more than the bride; here are some resolutions for the man in your life!

The pillar and punching bag!
Most of the time, it’s the bride who dream about what their wedding will be like. The groom should be there to help her realise that dream! But planning for one can be a stressful and frustrating experience – so the groom should be her pillar of support, her source of comfort and her punching bag if she needs one.

The accountant
Sometimes, in order to realise the wedding of her dreams, brides can go overboard and spend more then they budgeted for. The groom should be the “accountant” and ensure that costs are kept in check and that no one breaks the piggy bank! Of course, the groom himself should check on his own spending!

The producer
Brides will probably be stressed over items most brides are concerned about: the bridal wardrobe, the wedding decor, the stationery etc. The groom on the other hand can help her by getting all the logistic issues organised – plan the schedule for the day itself, contact the bridal party and help delegate tasks to them, organise meetings with vendors and plan the guest list. The bride would be the ‘creative director’ for the wedding and the groom would be the ‘producer’.

The mediator
Sometimes its best if the man was in charge of mediation and discussions between the couple, relatives and parents. There may be issues with parents and in-laws when it comes to their demands for the wedding, especially over budgets and guest list. The groom should take the lead and handle their demands diplomatically and reasonably. He should also these discuss the issues with the bride and gather her feedback.

The R&R planner
The groom should not only plan the honeymoon, he should also plan and surprise the bride with romantic and fun dates to alleviate the stress of wedding planning. Everyone needs time off so it would be good if the groom takes the initiative to organise date nights and short getaways to bond with his bide before the big day. These dates would also help to make the whole wedding planning experience an enjoyable one.
