Oceanfront views, romantic garden gazebos and flower-lined aisles make these solemnisation set-ups worthy wedding inspiration.
The terrific cliffside views overlooking the Indian Ocean from Uluwatu Surf Villas were more than enough as the backdrop for Andie & Mark's solemnisation ceremony. "As we had a grand ballroom celebration in Singapore the week before, we wanted our wedding in Bali to be chill, and our guests to be on vacation mode." Guests sat on chairs as well as plus oversized cushions during the ceremony, with most of them going barefoot - including the bride and groom! Because Celine's favourite flower - the peony - wasn't in season, she decided on the local, in-season blooms of orchids, roses and berries that matched perfectly with the resort's traditional architecture. Large candles in glass vases and acrylic chairs kept their ceremony simple, chic and open. Pale yellow and white roses were tied to the chairs with long ribbons as a simple compliment to the table set up, and cheery oversized paper lanterns were hung from the rafters before the solemnisation spot. I told them to think of the event as a smart Sunday brunch and to dress accordingly. It was so relaxed that mid-way through the reception, I changed into flip-flops so I could run around and take photos with our guests!", says Jeanne.
