If you’ve purchased or rented your dress at a bridal salon in Singapore, these salons will usually offer alteration services at your fittings. Otherwise, you can consider going to these tailors and seamstresses. But do keep in mind the time needed – think two to three months, especially for major alterations. Rush jobs may cost extra.
Haute Alteration Initiative
Set up in 2010, Haute Alteration Initiative offers more than just sewing and alteration services. The social enterprise also helps single mothers get back on their feet by giving them the opportunity to pick up a new skill, and earn a living with reasonable wages (Psst: Here are 9 ways to have a wedding that gives back). That’s not all: they’re also known for their ability to restyle clothes (perfect if you’re not happy with your existing dress design), and/or replicate designs. It also promises high alteration standards so you can be sure your Vera Wang number is in good hands.

We’ve seen a few recommendations for Kim on the forums, and have seen her gowns from real brides who’ve hired her services. With nearly three decades of experience under her belt, Kim does alterations, as well as custom wedding dresses (from what we’ve read from reviews, she even goes fabric shopping with brides) and qipaos. You’ll need to contact her months ahead – she will be taking on lesser projects moving forward.
