Weddings are personal affairs, and who you choose to invite, is really your own business. For me, I was leaning toward having a kid-free wedding (should that day ever come), until I came across this article from Huffington Post.

Here are my three reasons on why you won’t regret having children at your wedding:

1. Memorable moments
Have kids at your wedding, and there’s never a dull moment! I’ve come across a two-year-old flower girl who decided at the last minute (when she was nearing the altar) that she’d rather be with her father, who was seated with the rest of the immediate family. I’ve also seen a seven-year-old, decide that singing the first few lines of ‘Happy Birthday’ at the top of her voice whenever guests take pictures with the newly-weds, is funny. These unique moments make for fun memories that will bring a smile to your face long after the wedding.

2. Adorable pictures
The pictures of flower girls and page boys in our spreads and real weddings features are simply too adorable.

One of my favourites is of Eileen and Dean’s little nephew and niece all dressed up in their “wedding finery”, which was a replica of the bride and groom’s. Or the shot of Belinda and Thomas’ one-and-a-half year old page boy announcing the bride’s arrival to the delight of guests.

3. They’re fun to be around with
Kids have endless energy, they’re mostly positive, and they’re potential icebreakers at any event: the reception, first dance, or even the bouquet toss! If you’re worried about them misbehaving or getting bored during the lengthier parts, you may want to consider giving them things to do, such as colouring books, or a kids’ table, where they can interact with other children.
