When it comes to music videos, we’ve only ever focused on three prominent factors to determine the entertainment value of it: The music, the dancing, and the storyline.
But after the recent emergence of Taylor Swift’s music video, we’ve changed our minds… All that glitters is truly the gold. Or in this case, it’s yellow & white gold, coupled with 55 marquise brilliant cut diamonds (10.44 ct), 71 round and pear shaped rubies (2.55 ct) and pavé diamonds (8.66 ct) which adorned her Bvlgari Serpenti necklace. Phew, that was a mouthful.
We’ve turned our attention to cameo appearances made by covetable jewelry pieces in popular music videos. Here are the few noteworthy ones we’ve round up.

It seems like the ONLY thing that’s been on everyone’s lips of late is the metaphorical explanation of this music video by Taylor Swift. Having taken the pop culture world by storm after its release last Sunday, the music video garnered both positive and negative reactions worldwide with its subtle hints of passive aggression.
And we’re not about to jump into the fray… What we really care about here is the jewelry Taylor Swift was clad in during an iconic scene of her sitting atop a throne surrounded snakes.
Apart from the abovementioned necklace, Taylor wore the coveted Bvlgari Serpenti bracelets in pink gold with mother of pearl and pavé diamonds, white gold with pavé diamonds, and pink gold with onyx and pavé diamonds.
It’s needless to say that we’re desperately itching to land our hands on these beautifully sensual pieces. We’ll even tolerate being called a ‘snake’ by the rest of the world if that’ll earn us the entire Bvlgari Serpenti collection. One can only dream.
The term “statement necklace” just got a mighty upgrade from the Queen herself.
While one of these breathtaking pieces would stand between us and making this month’s rent, Beyonce allowed piles of jewels (worth $3,400USD) from American jewelry label Dylanlex graze her shoulders in the music video for “Formation”.
Made with oxidised silver-plated chains and Swarovski crystals, Dylanlex’s Ivy earrings, Hadley choker, Fakley II necklace and Rocky and Rhys bracelets are nothing short of lavish.
Selena Gomez, in her vintage pale yellow sheath, looks breathtaking as usual in a pair of Dolce & Gabbana heart and hoop earrings.
The dainty gold hoops remain true to Selena’s affable innocence, and is a classic must-have subtle piece of jewelry.
Britney Spear’s iconic music video “Circus” features Britney is circular Bvlgari diamond earrings right at the very beginning of it. Way to make a grand entrance.
This is followed by a scene where Britney opens a Bvlgari jewelry box only to reveal… You guessed it – a Bvlgari necklace with pairs of brilliant-cut diamonds on ring-shaped pendants iconic to the design of Bvlgari. The necklace amounts to a whopping amount of $43,000USD while the earrings are valued at $15,000USD.
A golden-haired Katy Perry frolicks around a field of bright yellow flowers in Calvin Harris’s psychedelic island music video for the song “Feels” while brandishing a lust-worthy diamond choker from Djula.
Before you start to fall in love with this beautiful 45.56-carat diamond choker, we ought to mention that it’s worth $226,800USD… Yup, worth way more than all of our organs sold.
We never knew Chanel made plated, multi-chain harness double-belts until we saw them with the iconic dangling double C charms on Rihanna in her “Pour It Up” music video. She also wore massive gold Chanel logo earrings and tiers upon tiers of Chanel chains hung from her waist. Leave it to Rihanna to tempt us with an entire array of jewelry we didn’t think we needed until now.
Fergie led her posse of powerful hot moms while dripping in Yeprem diamonds. She wore the Ararad bracelet set in white gold with marquise cut diamonds.
The claw-like form of the bracelet is nothing like we’ve ever seen before. Top it off with Yeprem’s signature and the abundant display of diamonds, and we’re completely sold.
Who can forget the Swarovski crystal pave spiral ring that was featured prominently in Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors” music video? Well, certainly not us.
We were smitten by the five-layered rhodium-plated metal ring the minute we saw it on the brunette beauty in the video, and then its price was revealed and guess what; we were instantly floored. At only $175USD, the Swarovski spiral ring looks rich and exclusive in a way we can only expect from a Cartier or Tiffany’s ring.
Back in 2008 when Rihanna was still sporting a sexy boycut, she flaunted a striking 18k yellow gold watch from Piaget on her wrist in the “Take a Bow” video.
The Piaget polo watch made a powerful contrast against the black backdrop, which only served to make Rihanna look much more elegant than she already is. Mind you, she looked elegant though she was only in a black tank top; that’s the true power of a Piaget Polo.
Rihanna adorned two of Christian Dior’s 18 gold diamond-studded My Dior Bracelets in her video “Needed me”. She wore both the white gold and yellow gold bracelets, which were designed to look like the brand’s signature Cannage pattern, on her right arm.
On her left arm, our favourite #badgalriri brandished Chopard’s Happy Hearts bracelets – the stunning 18k rose gold bangle with a single moving white diamond and mother-of-pearl heart details. Guess it’s safe to say that the Barbadian singer loves her diamonds (we mean, she even sang a whole song about them).
