The legendary Swiss watchmaker takes the best attributes from two of its popular ranges to create its newest collection, the Skin Irony. This is for you if you like slim watches with metal cases

Most of us probably grew up wearing - and loving - watches from Swatch for their fun designs, simplicity, and for being reliable yet affordable.

But if you think you have grown out of Swatch, you’ve got another thing coming. While the Swiss watchmaker is still best known for its colourful watches with the signature plastic cases and silicone straps, sexier and more grown-up timepieces are also staples at Swatch, like the Irony, a series of stainless steel and aluminium watches introduced in 1994, and Skin, a range of ultra thin (3.9mm thick) watches first launched in 1997.

More than 20 years after the two ranges were first introduced, Swatch has launched the new Skin Irony collection last week, featuring 16 watches that combine the best attributes of both - the slimness of Skin, with the stainless steel cases of Irony. The result is a watch that is notably slim and lightweight, yet tough.

All watches in the collection come with a stainless steel case, paired with either a silicone strap, a stainless steel bracelet or a leather strap. From $209.
