We also got down to a pantry Q&A with the trained nutritionist:

What are three things you cannot live without in your pantry?

Eggs, milk, bananas.

Is your pantry an organised mess or are you a neat freak?

Haha! I try to keep it as neat as possible, only because it’s a small space and I film in it pretty often so it can’t look too disorderly.

How often do you restock your pantry?

Usually, once a week. Now, sporadically! I try not to use up anything too quickly so I won’t have to make too many grocery runs. Although I did finish up my bottle of olive oil today and it was heartbreaking to see the last few drops come out of the bottle! I usually wait till I have a long-enough list of groceries to buy before leaving the house, but olive oil is such a staple so I may have to head out tomorrow!

If I woke up late, and had to have breakfast while working, what should I make?

A Peanut Butter Banana (PBB) Toast would be perfect! Slather on a dollop of natural peanut butter* (or your favourite nut butter) onto wholemeal toast and top it with a sliced banana.

Nut butters can get dry on the tongue, so the banana adds just enough moisture for you to chew through it easily. Nutrition-wise, the combination offers a good source of energy, protein, and micronutrients to start off your day with!

*check to see the peanut butter you’re buying doesn’t contain additional ingredients like oil/sugar. Natural peanut butter with nothing but peanuts and some salt is the best way to go

Your favourite thing to make during the Circuit Breaker period?

Open-face toasts are my go-to now. It’s quick and easy to put together, and the combination of toppings are endless! Here’s a smashed egg toast, topped with a homemade kale pesto.

I don’t usually just whip up a casual pesto like that by the way, I just happen to have it as I made some a few days ago haha (recipe for that is on my IG)! If not for that, I’d probably top it off with some Lao Gan Ma chilli and shredded cucumber. Perfect way to get your protein, carbs, and vegetables in one dish!
