Framed by a fluted white gold bezel, with 24 flowers set with diamonds in the centre, the floral motif dial of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 is an Azzurro-Blue wonder that is hard to ignore.

One would expect nothing less of Rolex, a brand that is synonymous with horology artistry, and the creator of highly sought-after classics such as the Datejust. When the watch was launched in 1945, it featured the first self-winding waterproof chronometer to display the date in a window at three o’clock on the dial, making it an instantly recognisable timepiece.

Rolesor, a signature feature of Rolex watches since 1933, is the combination of gold (here, the bezel is crafted in white gold) and Oystersteel, as exemplifided on the winding crown, middle case, clasp and bracelet.

While the Azzurro-Blue model comes in white Rolesor with an Oyster bracelet, other iterations include an 18K yellow gold design with an olive green dial, a bezel set with 46 brilliant-cut diamonds and a President bracelet, as well as an Everose Rolesor version — Oystersteel and Everose gold — with a silver dial, a bezel set with 46 brilliant-cut diamonds, and a Jubilee bracelet.

The Datejust 31 in Azzurro-Blue features a new calibre 2236 mvoement.

For many intrepid watch collectors, the Datejust is an exquisite timepiece that has withstood the test of time — and this reimagines collection of elegant floral motifs is the perfect showcase for Rolex’s unparalleled dial-making expertise.
