HW Endorses: The Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36
Rolex gives its signature timepiece a makeover with a vibrant new look
By Debby Kwong -
A classic design? Investment- worthy? Reflects your dynamic personality? Yes, yes and yes. That’s the latest version of Rolex’s Oyster Perpetual 36 in a nutshell.
A descendant of the world’s first waterproof wristwatch, introduced in 1926, the iconic timepiece now has lacquer dials in five cool new colours: candy pink, turquoise blue, yellow, coral red and green.
What’s new on the inside of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual: the calibre 3230, a movement debuted by the brand this year. Equipped with a self-winding module, its power reserve now extends to around 70 hours. It’s also more resistant to shocks and magnetic fields.
Designed for both form and function, the distinctive three-piece link Oyster bracelet has been fitted with an extension system – a first for the Oyster Perpetual range. This folding Oysterclasp, together with the Easylink comfort extension link, allows you to easily adjust the bracelet length by around 5mm.
Still, the main draw of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual has to be the instant sartorial statement the colourful watch face makes. Our pick: energetic coral red for an instant mood lifter, or serene turquoise blue for days when you need to stay calm.
The colourful dials are also available in 31mm as well as 41mm (excluding candy pink). Keep scrolling to view.
