Rado – the Swiss timepiece brand that invented the first watch that’s marketed as scratch-resistant – is proving that it too can do fashion watches that are trendy, not just practical.

Case in point? Its recent Rado True Thinline Couleurs Le Corbusier collection.

This exclusive design partnership pays tribute to the late Le Corbusier, who is considered one of the most important architect and designer that helped shape and define the modern world as we see it – in glorious technicolour.

Le Corbusier is remembered in the world of architecture and design for the development of an architectural colour palette – Le Corbusier’s Architectural Polychromy. Think of it as a colour authority that’s similar to Pantone that was made to be the ideal tool for masterful colour design. Le Corbusier’s colour theory features 63 fascinating shades that are meant to be naturally harmonious and can be combined in any way.

Which is good news for all you girl bosses out there with hectic schedules, because these monochromatic timepieces are versatile and can be easily mixed and matched with the hues from Le Corbusier’s palette.

Vibrant, expressive, striking yet minimalistic, the True Thinline Les Couleurs Le Corbusier watches come in nine colours (from left to right: iron grey, cream white, grey brown natural umber, pale sienna, spectacular ultramarine, luminous pink, sunshine yellow, powerful orange, and slight greyed English green) that are produced with only 999 pieces per colour worldwide.

Each timepiece also has a special case back design which includes a colour wheel depicting all the shades of Le Corbusier’s Architectural Polychromy.

Keeping to Rado’s steadfast promise towards quality, each piece is said to be durable, scratch-resistant, light, and comfortable to wear thanks to the full high-tech ceramic construction. Ceramic is known to be three to four times harder than stainless steel and also adapts to the wearer’s body temperature almost immediately, so it will never feel too hot or too cold against the skin – making it comfortable to wear.

With a collection of cheery colours to choose from, there is bound to be a piece that will be of your liking and one that will complement your work outfits from Monday through to Friday. So, go on ahead and make stacking watches a thing if you’re spoilt for choice.

The Rado True Thinline Couleurs Le Corbusier collection will be exclusively available at all Rado boutiques islandwide from August 2019. Each piece will retail at $2,810.
