The spring season was awashed with mood-boosting hues from pretty pastels to striking neons. As we brave through the pandemic and look forward to a brighter future, what better way to signify this optimism than with colourful gemstones to wear and love forever?

Enter Pomellato — the luxury Milanese jewellery renowned for its modernist jewellery designs and colourful gemstones. The brand was founded by Pino Rabolini in 1967 and back then, jewellery designs were typically conventional but Rabolini believed in the opposite. It was a time when women’s rights were being affirmed. With women being multi-faceted, Rabolini believed that the jewellery they wear should reflect their different colourful personalities, and should not be confined to traditional-looking pieces.

To better represent the personality-powered and fashion-forward women, Rabolini wanted his jewellery designs to be more creative and vibrant. That idea gave birth to the iconic Pomellato’s signature Nudo collection — a lineup of splendid rings and necklaces accented by colourful New Precious gems.

Introduced in 2001, the jubilant Nudo collection has been highly sought after by jewellery lovers worldwide. And it's for good reasons. Thanks to their cheery coloured gemstones (some of which are rare in the realm of fine jewellery), the Nudo pieces are natural mood-lifters.

Sparking joy to each and every woman who wears a piece of Pomellato jewellery, the storied Italian brand is celebrating International Women's Day this March by introducing new pieces to the Nudo collection.

In addition, Pomellato has also launched its fifth International Women's Day video that showcases the brand's #PomellatoForWomen spirit, promoting inclusivity and equality, as well as change.

One of Pomellato’s noble developments is undoubtedly the iconic Clessidra cut. It features one or two gemstones that are placed back-to-back perfectly and sealed together in the middle by a gold band. Doing so creates a bigger and bolder-looking piece that stands out from the crowd. At the same time, the gemstones’ colours become richer, transforming the designs into conversation-sparking pieces.
