The Van Cleef & Arpels pop-up worth adding to your Bangkok itinerary

If you’re in Bangkok this October, make time for the Van Cleef & Arpels Perlée pop-up — and I’d make a day of it.

Sathorn is one of my favourite areas in Bangkok, and one of my go-to spots there is Fran’s. My recommendation? Book a table for brunch at Fran’s first, then hop over to the Perlée pop-up afterwards. It makes for a lovely afternoon itinerary — good food, a little neighbourhood exploring and plenty of jewellery and art to admire.

Housed at Préf Café & Bar, the immersive experience brings Van Cleef & Arpels’ signature Perlée collection to life through art, jewellery and playful installations. Since its debut in 2008, Perlée has been defined by its distinctive golden beads, a motif that traces its origins to the Maison’s creations from the late 1940s.

For the Bangkok pop-up, those polished golden spheres become the inspiration for an imaginative world created in collaboration with French artist Arthur Hoffner, who has worked with the Maison since 2019. Expect sculptural forms, graphic lines, moving spheres and bursts of colour that transform Perlée’s signature motif into an immersive art experience.

Naturally, there is plenty of jewellery to admire, from Perlée’s pieces in yellow, white and rose gold to the latest creations embellished with diamonds and coloured gemstones. Look out, too, for the latest Perlée timepiece, featuring a diamond-paved case framed by two rows of polished golden beads and a midnight-blue aventurine dial with a radiant guilloché effect.

Beyond the jewellery displays, interactive elements explore the inspirations and craftsmanship behind the collection, while a dedicated photo opportunity brings the colourful, playful spirit of Perlée to life.

Editor’s tip: Book Fran’s for brunch first — I’d definitely reserve ahead — then make your way to the Van Cleef & Arpels Perlée pop-up. The pop-up runs until 18 October, so this is one Bangkok stop worth fitting into your itinerary before it disappears.
