Crocs launches footwear for canines

With American footwear brand Crocs collaborating with everything from fast-food brands to anime, the “ugly” footwear brand is now embarking on yet another frontier – pet footwear.
“You asked, we woofed!” said Crocs on its website touting boots for man’s best friend.
The line of footwear is “inspired by the special bond between fans and their furry friends”, made in partnership with pet supply company and subscription service BARK.
Featuring a marbled pattern in green and pink, the boots – which will be sold for a limited time at $64.95 on Crocs’ Singapore website – have a glow-in-the-dark effect.
They come in three sizes – small, which fits paws up to 5.1cm in length and 3.8cm in width, medium for paws measuring 5.7cm by 4.4cm, and large for those measuring 6.4cm by 5.1cm.
Pet Crocs will be sold alongside matching footwear for humans. These are not listed on the Crocs Singapore website yet, but appear to be priced at US$65 (S$85) on its American website.
The product will be launched on Oct 23 – which Crocs has christened “Croc Day” – as part of the footwear brand’s annual month-long “Croctober” campaign, during which it often releases limited products and tie-ins requested by fans in the name of celebrating its community.
“We take pride in connecting with our fans and celebrating their boundless creativity, which makes our brand truly unique,” said Crocs brand president Anne Mehlman.
“This Croctober embodies the innovative spirit of Crocs and honours our diverse fan base by demonstrating how our collective imagination can turn the ordinary into something extraordinary.”
