The non-invasive lifting treatment that helped my early-30s double chin look more defined
My real-life results from the 30-minute Korean skin-tightening laser that promises zero downtime

I’m a firm believer in embracing the ageing process, but I also believe in looking my best at every stage. Now in my early 30s, I’ve started noticing the subtle effects of gravity—slight drooping and the beginnings of a double chin, which always seem more pronounced on camera or under harsh sunlight. And while I’m diligent with my skincare routine, I’ve found myself increasingly curious about non-invasive options that go beyond actives and collagen-boosting facials.
So when I was invited to try the buzzy Titanium Lifting treatment at Calvin Chan Aesthetic and Laser Clinic, it felt like just what the doctor ordered—pun fully intended. Who can say no to looking a little more snatched? This Korea-originated skin-lifting treatment has earned a loyal following, including celebrities like Seol In-Ah.
Nicknamed the “BTS Treatment” (Brightening, Tightening, Slimming), Titanium Lifting uses triple-wavelength laser technology to target multiple layers of the skin. Each session takes about 30 minutes, during which patients feel alternating waves of coolness from the device’s cooling system and warmth from the laser energy.
“Originally developed for hair removal, this device has been adapted for facial lifting to support a more sculpted appearance and improve skin texture. Over time, Titanium Lifting may stimulate collagen remodelling, contributing to improved skin quality and a more radiant-looking complexion,” explains Dr Chan.
Why choose Titanium Lifting?
The treatment is suitable for most skin tones, including tanned skin, but isn’t recommended for those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or dealing with a compromised skin barrier or active conditions like eczema. It also pairs well with other aesthetic treatments such as botulinum toxin injections—which relax muscle movement to smooth wrinkles—and dermal fillers, which use hyaluronic acid to restore volume.
Dr Chan notes that Titanium Lifting stands out from similar skin-tightening options because it delivers visible results with minimal discomfort. Although numbing cream is often used, “it is not really needed due to the effective built-in ICE Plus cooling applicator,” he shares. This cooling, combined with the extended laser pulse, helps generate deeper heat for more dramatic lifting and brightening effects.
Another major perk? “There is absolutely no downtime. The improvement in luminosity, skin-brightening, and textural refinement that comes with the Titanium Lift doesn’t necessarily come with most other non-invasive facial lifting procedures,” he adds.
Most patients see immediate results, with optimal lifting and tightening becoming more pronounced after two to three sessions. The brightening and “glass-like” glow often appear after the first or second appointment. Results typically last 6–12 months, depending on your skin condition and maintenance. Side effects are minimal—think temporary warmth, mild redness, or slight swelling—and patients can return to their regular skincare and makeup routines right away.
My Titanium Lifting experience
During my consultation, Dr Chan asked about my key concerns. He noted some mild skin laxity—which can be linked to fluctuating weight—and pointed out that Titanium Lifting would help with lifting and minimising the appearance of enlarged pores on my cheeks. Although the treatment can be done without numbing cream, I opted for it since it was my first session.
After about 45 minutes, once the numbing had taken effect, Dr Chan began guiding the applicator across my face, spending extra time around my jawline and lower face—my problem areas. With the numbing cream, I felt the pressure of the metallic applicator and a gentle warmth, but nothing uncomfortable.
To my surprise, when I looked in the mirror, my skin—which usually flushes at the slightest provocation—wasn’t noticeably red. There was mild pinkness on my cheeks, but nothing alarming. I could also see a visible lift, especially along my chin and lower face.
“Some patients may notice temporary warmth, redness, or mild swelling, which usually subsides within a few hours. Any persistent side effects should be reported to your doctor,” says Dr Chan.
Healing and results
I was able to go about my day immediately after, even applying tinted moisturiser and blush with no issues. Compared to other lasers that can leave your skin puffy or sensitised, this left me with a subtle glass-like glow—almost like I had just had a hydrating facial.
I did experience a small rash-like patch on my left cheek a few days later, likely caused by using a strong exfoliant without giving my skin enough time to recover. That brings me to aftercare: continue using sunscreen diligently, avoid intentional tanning, and steer clear of harsh exfoliants or actives for about a week to allow your skin barrier to settle.
While I noticed brightening right away, the most impressive results appeared about a month later. My skin felt softer and smoother (my makeup applied noticeably better, especially over my cheeks), and my face overall looked more defined and lifted.
Verdict
A single Titanium Lifting session at Calvin Chan Aesthetic and Laser Clinic costs $850, while a package of three sessions is priced at $2,400. If you’re looking for an in-office treatment that delivers visible, immediate improvement with virtually no downtime, Titanium Lifting is an excellent option—especially if you want a complexion pick-me-up before big events.
It’s been about two months since my treatment, and I’m still seeing improvements in tightness, tone, and overall radiance.
