Model Byul Lee’s glowy makeup secrets: The beauty device she uses before every event

What started as an eyebrow tutorial has grown into a passion for sharing approachable beauty tips. Today, model and content creator Byul Lee (@leebyulbyul) is known for her glowy makeup, skin-first approach and honest product recommendations. 

As this year’s judge for the Tools & Devices category, she put beauty gadgets through their paces with the same discerning eye she brings to every review. “I’m a very visual person, so the first thing that catches my attention is how a product works on someone’s skin,” she says. 

“Beauty content is something I’m genuinely passionate about, so being invited to judge this year’s Beauty Awards felt incredibly special. It was one of those moments that made me think, “Wow, maybe I’m actually doing something right.”

For the 30-year-old, a winning product is one that makes you want to repurchase it before you’ve even finished the first one. “That’s usually how I know it’s earned its spot.”

Fresh from testing this year’s best beauty tools and devices, Byul Lee shares the beauty philosophy, makeup tips and favourite finds that shape her routine.

How would you describe your beauty philosophy?

I don’t believe there’s such a thing as the “perfect” makeup look. Beauty is about discovering what suits you, rather than trying to look like everyone else. If a look makes you feel confident when you see yourself in the mirror, that’s more than enough.

What’s your signature beauty look?

A warm, glowy complexion with softly defined makeup and a sprinkling of freckles.

What’s your beauty superpower?

Creating makeup that looks effortless, even though there’s actually quite a lot going on. I love layering products so the finished look still feels fresh, lightweight and like your own skin – just a little more polished.

What’s one thing you never compromise on in your beauty routine?

Sunscreen. I can’t stop ageing, but I can at least try not to speed it up.

What’s your go-to beauty hack?

Sleep. I know it’s not the most exciting beauty secret, but nothing beats a solid eight hours. My skin can always tell the difference.

What’s been your favourite beauty find from this year’s Beauty Awards, and why?

The Medicube Booster Pro. The first time I used it with the Medicube Glowing Bubble Serum, I was genuinely shocked by how radiant my skin looked. It’s since become my go-to before events or whenever I want an extra glow before applying makeup.
