In what has been an emotional year for the Hsu family, following the unexpected passing of actress Barbie Hsu in February, Taiwanese host Dee Hsu’s second daughter, Lily, honoured her late aunt with a heartfelt tribute at her first solo art exhibition in Taipei.

Unveiled on 29 June at Tartch Gallery, the 17-year-old’s debut show featured a moving piece titled Barbie, part of her Prey of Prey series, which explores the concept of a “pseudo-utopia” and draws inspiration from the psychological horror film Black Swan.

Lily shared with local media that she began working on the piece around Lunar New Year and completed the tribute in May. Despite being on a hiatus from the spotlight, Dee Hsu attended the opening alongside her husband Mike, both opting to keep a low profile.

For her exhibition debut, Lily embodied quiet elegance in an all-black ensemble, her long hair worn sleek and side-parted. Her radiant complexion was paired with a soft winged liner, a whisper of blush, her signature glossy pout, and a touch of shimmer accentuating her aegyo-sal and inner eye corners, delivering a look that was both sophisticated and youthful.
