It’s time to treat yourself to a luxury lipstick
You’ve already given so much to your loved ones, we think it’s time to indulge in a little end of the year gift, too

Luxury lipsticks are becoming more common these days. Besides beauty brands that are producing luxury lippies, well-known international fashion brands have now expanded their product offerings to include their own line of prestige makeup.
“They are the additional extensions to the fashion houses,” shares makeup artist Larry Yeo. Besides giving a weighted feeling which in turn gives users “a sense of ‘value’”, Larry finds that “winning textures of luxury lipsticks are similar to how a luxurious fabric feels on the skin.”
Luxury lipsticks are also defined by the brand’s attention to detail when it comes to product design, “from how the cap closes and the accompanying click sound, to how smooth the lipstick turns when you uncap it,” adds Larry.
Before you shop for your next investment-worthy lipstick, Larry’s advice is to ask yourself these questions: “How much do you desire the brand? How does the lipstick texture feel on your lips? Does the brand offer the colours you like? Will the lipstick packaging be instantly recognisable when you use it?”
Celine Beauté made its debut with Le Rouge Celine, in a statement-making fire engine red hue named Rouge Triomphe. With its opulent gold tube and iconic Triomphe emblem, this lipstick epitomises luxury.
On days when you’re going for a no-makeup makeup look, reach for this limited edition lip balm that will keep chapped lips at bay. Its glossy and sparkling finish enlivens your look without going too over-the-top.
With nine different case designs to choose from (think animal print, marble, bejewelled and more), the Guerlain Rouge G lipstick is anything but ordinary. Even better news: its new and improved formula contains 89 per cent skincare ingredients, giving your lips all the TLC it deserves.
If you’re tired of lipsticks drying out your lips, reach for Sisley’s latest Phyto-Rouge Velvet Lipstick which is made to provide physical and physiological protection. It creates a physical barrier to minimise water loss from your lips while toughening their natural barrier to shield against external stresses.
