How K-beauty and touring shaped “The Cutest Pair” singer Regina Song’s makeup style
Once shy about stepping out of her comfort zone, the hitmaker now embraces beauty as a way to grow, express and connect with herself and her fans

While touring Southeast Asia in January this year with stops in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Manila, Singaporean singer-songwriter Regina Song discovered a quiet thrill in getting ready each morning. “It felt like I could choose to be a different character every day,” she says. “I chose to be more experimental with the makeup I wore, and even the outfits I’d pair with it like patterned shorts and cute dress shirts.”
Before touring, the Cutest Pair hitmaker’s beauty style was clean and soft, with “nothing too experimental.” But performing abroad gave her the opportunity to step outside that comfort zone. On stage, her makeup takes on more drama and dimension: “I’ve always tried to keep my everyday makeup girly and fresh, so my on-stage makeup is just an amplified version of that.”
Though the 21-year-old once preferred doing her own makeup, working with local artistes on tour shifted her mindset. “I felt confident that I would still align with the beauty standards of each country I performed in,” she shares.
“I also tried to choose clothing that was meaningful to the place I was in. For example, in Indonesia, I was given a pink Batik corset and of course I had to wear it! My makeup artist made sure my makeup matched the colours of the corset,” she adds.
Her go-to beauty cues? A pink glossy lip, rosy blush, and a dusting of highlighter for glow. “I feel like confidently wearing pink subliminally encourages girls to feel more comfortable stepping into and embracing their femininity.”
Inspired by K-beauty and K-pop idols with similar features, she’s adopted playful elements like aegyo-sal and lip lining into her routine. But her approach remains personal and evolving. “I used to wear bold red lips because my idols did, but I realised it didn’t suit my softer features. Through trial and error, I found what really works for me.”
Now, Regina sees beauty not just as decorative but as empowering. “It helps me channel a version of myself that feels more confident on stage. Be daring enough to try something new. We all grow in and out of styles, and that’s why beauty is so fun.”

About this series:
The way we dress, style our hair, and paint our faces is more than aesthetic. It’s a reflection of who we are. Like a mirror, beauty captures identity shaped by culture, connection, and the places that leave their mark on us.
In celebration of SG60, this six-part series spotlights homegrown performers who’ve taken their craft to international stages. Touring the globe has not only elevated their music and performances, but also transformed their personal style.
Here, they open up about the beauty rituals they’ve picked up abroad, the signature looks that define them on and off stage, and how life on the road continues to shape their glow.
