In Good Company opens 3 storey flagship boutique in Joo Chiat shophouse 

Easties, here’s another reason to say “east side best side”: Homegrown fashion and lifestyle brand In Good Company has opened its three-storey flagship store in a charming Joo Chiat shophouse.

The boutique transforms the heritage property into a retail space that brings together a carefully considered mix of local and regional collaborators, with offerings spanning fashion, beauty, self-care, design objects and everyday essentials that create a more holistic experience that extends into the rituals of home, rest and daily life. 

While retaining much of the building’s original architectural features, its design preserves the existing brick walls, timber flooring, exposed beams and the shophouse’s original spiral stairwell, allowing the character of the historic shophouse to shape the experience of the space. 

Natural light, bamboo blinds, woven textures and warm tonal finishes also create a softer, more residential atmosphere, allowing it to feel closer to a home than a traditional retail store.

The space also aims to become part of the neighbourhood’s rhythm while creating opportunities for meaningful exchange between people, businesses and creative communities. If you’re stopping by, here’s what you’ll find inside.

Brands to expect

Anchoring the ground floor is Miura, a tea and wagashi stand by the team behind the renowned restaurant on Pearl’s Hill, Paaru. Created around a shared appreciation for craft, hospitality and intentional experiences, Miura offers a contemporary interpretation of Japanese tea culture through carefully prepared teas and handcrafted wagashi.

Upstairs, visitors can discover wellness offerings from Anotherland; handcrafted ceramics and artworks by Dear Tuesday and Mudrock Ceramics; fragrances and home objects from Copenn, Mad et Len and Incausa; furniture and home pieces by Nathan Home; handcrafted metal objects by Baremetal; as well as audio products from Transparent. 

For the fashion and beauty lovers, you can shop beauty essentials from Romi Beauty; thoughtfully designed everyday accessories from Days of Ever; as well as sculptural bags and objects by Studio Karyn Lim. 

The store will also introduce a selection of exclusive In Good Company lifestyle products, including stationery developed in collaboration with Allegro Print.

In Good Company’s new collection

Launching alongside the new Joo Chiat store is In Good Company’s latest collection, inspired by the same sense of warmth, familiarity and quiet restraint that defines the space itself. 

Designed as a wardrobe to be lived in, the collection embraces relaxed silhouettes, thoughtful proportions and natural fabrications including cotton, rayon and viscose that soften with time and wear. 

In a palette of warm neutrals, each piece is created to move effortlessly through everyday life, encouraging ease over occasion and comfort over excess. 

Launching this August is also In Good Company’s Travel Sleep Sets designed for both men and women, extending the brand’s exploration of everyday rituals beyond dressing and into moments of rest and travel. 

“Joo Chiat has always had a quiet pull for us,” says Jaclyn Teo, Co-Founder and Managing Director of In Good Company “It is one of the few parts of Singapore where you can still feel the texture of old shophouse life alongside a lived-in and genuine sense of community.” 

She adds: “This feels entirely different to a mall unit – this conservation building has character already built into the walls. We wanted to create a space that could become part of the neighbourhood’s daily rhythm rather than sit apart from it.”
