Futuristic makeup looks and nail designs to try out this festive season
Back to the future
By Letty Seah -
This holiday season, we’re looking to the future for beauty inspiration. Drawing from the Fall/Winter 2024 sci-fi runway trends, we’re embracing metallic hues, holographic finishes, and experimental manicures.
Swap your neutral eyeshadow for a gradient of silver and pastel tones that extends from the lash line to just below the brow bone. Pair your shimmering lids with lightened brows and a juicy pink pout for a look fit for a space princess.

Glittery arches make a strong statement and are easier to pull off than they might seem. Swipe on some eyelash glue with a spoolie and when your brows are still tacky, pat on some loose glitter with a brush. Add a swipe of lip gloss and wash of highlighter on your lids and you’re all set.

This look is inspired by the rosy flush you get after a brisk winter walk. It features a generous amount of pink highlighter and blush, finished with an iridescent swipe of eyeshadow on the lids and high-shine gloss on the lips.

Here’s a cool-girl way to add a touch of glam to your holiday makeup: elevate your winged liner with embellishments at the outer corners of your eyes, and add a stroke of black eyeliner along the lower lash line. It’s a show-stopping graphic eyeliner style that you can wear well beyond the stroke of midnight.

Instead of the usual festive colours like green and gold, try something more unconventional – like rosy or lavender hues. You can’t go wrong with an all-over glow and glossy, lined lips.
