The original Samba sneaker was one of the first Adidas sneakers to feature the now iconic 3-Stripes design. The extra lace holes and gum sole made the adidas Originals Samba a great soccer shoe. In 1950, the FIFA World Cup took place in Brazil so Adidas named it the Samba, after the traditional Brazilian dance.

Released over 74 years ago, it's second only to the Stan Smith as Adidas' best-selling sneakers of all-time.  Bella Hadid has worn the Samba faithfully for years, but  now the nerdy dad sneaker has become an It sneaker, and we’ve seen it on Kaia Gerber, Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner. Join the league of these off-duty models with a pair of Samba sneakers.

Like a statement shoe? Look no further than the collegiate green version to achieve a really retro and preppy vibe. It reminds us of the days when we spotted these on the Gallagher brothers during their Oasis heyday.

Until 2011, Adidas didn’t offer the shoe in any other colour except black. And when you compare it to some of the sneakers such as Nike Air Force 1 and Reebok Club C, it’s still a classic and more affordable.

If you prefer something more feminine, opt for this version with beige leather and blush pink stripes and a turquoise footbed. CEO Bjørn Gulden declared on a March earnings call that the Samba was the “hottest shoe on the market.”
