Sisters Michaela Wong and Aarika Lee show you how to slay the coloured tights trend

Whether it’s in bold prints or colours, tights are definitely making a big comeback this season – brands like Etro even featured printed tights that match with finger gloves.

We put these stylish women to the test by asking them to assemble an outfit for each other from Pre-Fall 2023’s biggest trends.

Your thoughts on this trend?

AARIKA (A): A 100 per cent yes to coloured tights. If only our weather would be more agreeable.

Why did you choose this outfit for each other?

A: I picked the Moncler jacket for Mikey because of the buckle detail around the collar – the fact that she’s tall means she can carry it off perfectly. It also helps even out the feminine details of the outfit (skirt, tube and tights), which I feel is very much my sister’s style. I think she appreciates duality in most things, and that extends to what she likes to wear too.

MICHAELA (M): These pieces call out to me because of how bright and fun they are. My sister’s style is really an extension of her personality, and I immediately gravitate to the pieces that lift my mood and remind me of sunshine.

In your opinion, is this a wearable, everyday look?

A: A little challenging if you’re outdoors all day, but if you’re indoors, then totally.

M: I think it’s a great trend to take you through seasons (but) I don’t know how wearable it is in hot and humid Singapore, because I’m always in shorts here!

Do you like how you were styled?

A: I love it! I think my sister knows my style really well, and the colours that I gravitate to. This outfit is something I’d totally pick for myself.

M: Yes! My sister knows my style and understands me really well. I’m not usually comfortable in front of the camera, but she managed to style me in a way that makes me feel confident.

STYLE TIP: Don’t just stick to skirts. Coloured tights look great with trousers too, especially if it has a nice contrast with your shoes
