The whole world certainly went gaga over sapphire diamond rings when Duchess Kate first wore her now famous rock in 2010, a gem that originally belonged to the late Princess Diana.
And she’s far from the only famous face wearing an unusual engagement ring; we’ve also seen a more recent deluge of Hollywood stars including Olivia Wilde and Mary-Kate Olsen wearing more non-traditional wedding options.
So why not go big on colour, for that prized dream gem. While most women can only dream about wearing such hefty jewels on their hands, there’s no harm in ogling a bit of bejewelled eye candy.
