Ever since Prada re-popularised the padded ‘80s Alice band for S/S ‘19, the headband has been taking the fashion world by storm, well and truly marking its return as the accessory du jour to be reckoned with. So much so, that even now as we embark upon Fall/Winter 2020, the headband isn’t backing down as one of the hottest accessories to rock.

The first inkling of the headband’s staying power this season manifested during the Fall/Winter ‘20 runways, as Prada debuted yet another headband that would certainly overtake its padded velvet predecessor in popularity: a sleek knife-sharp metal tiara encrusted with crystals or the Prada logo. Fendi also pushed the agenda for the Alice band with a slew of textured velvet, leather and scrunchie-like padded headbands – worn upside down.

If you’re keen on getting in on the trend, we’ve scoured the web for some of the coolest trending styles to own. From faux pearl embellishments and twisted satin designs to retro stripes and gold baroque, here are the top designer headbands to shop this season.
