Givenchy’s Antigona tote bag has always been a best-selling classic that’s synonymous with the brand. A practical carryall with instantly distinguishable hallmarks such as its boxy silhouette, triangular logo and angular, downward slanting cuts at the sides, the Antigona celebrates its 10th anniversary this year – an anniversary marked by the release of a new iteration of the beloved iconic bag: the Antigona Soft. Featuring a relaxed, more supple build than its elder sister, the new line of Antigona Soft bags were a part of Givenchy’s Fall 2020 launch and come in small, medium, and large sizes as well as a variety of colourways and prints. One of the standout pieces from the drop includes this version crafted in vintage leather with a worn-out effect and dark silver-finish stud decor.

Fan of pop art? You’ll be as obsessed with this collection as we are. Released in late-July this year, Louis Vuitton’s Crafty collection has been one of the most hyped up designer collections of 2020. Drawing inspiration from 20th century artistic movements (graffiti art and neo-expressionism), the collection sees Louis Vuitton’s iconic bags rendered in its popular Monogram Giant motif, but this time accompanied by punchy bold hues and artsy patterns. A fun everyday bag, the Speedy Bandoulière 25 never fails to establish itself as an essential carryall. It is seen here in a fitting autumnal orange as a part of the Crafty capsule collection.
Available at Louis Vuitton boutiques in Singapore including The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Ion Orchard, and Takashimaya Shopping Centre.
Chanel’s F/W ‘20 collection debuted a series of lust-worthy handbags adorned with heirloom gemstones and precious trinkets for a nostalgic, regal feel. This mini flap bag from the collection features onyx stones and pearls encrusted in a decorative grid, with the brand’s double c motif gilded in the centrepiece onyx. With both a gold chain top handle and a shoulder strap, this elegant number will serve you well as both a stunning collector’s item and a charming evening purse.

For its F/W ‘20 collection, Prada looked towards fine embroidery of tassels and braided trims. This mini pouch shoulder bag in the brand’s signature nylon material showcases the collection’s hallmarks with ornate and intricate tonal embroidery and braided tassel decor. Featuring a silver chain shoulder strap and a braided cord shoulder strap – both of which are detachable, this pouch bag pays homage to the brand’s trending Re-Edition 2005 nylon bag, but with an elevated decorative twist.

The ever-elegant and ladylike Lady D-Lite bag from Dior sees itself reiterated in a series of decadent plush velvets for F/W ‘20. One of the newest styles from the brand, the Lady D-Lite is an updated modernised version of the iconic Lady Dior tote bag that was released for S/S ‘20. This exquisite new velvet rendition is embroidered with the Cannage motif in matte blue cotton thread to offer a contrast against the dark blue velvet. The luxurious velvet Lady D-Lite is also available in other opulent colours such as emerald green and burgundy.

With Bottega Veneta’s undisputed reputation for churning out best-selling it-bag after it-bag, we had good reason to be vigilant for the next crop of accessories that would soon take over the fashion world during the label’s F/W ‘20 runway show back in February. One of the standout bags that caught our eye during was the flocculent pastel yellow pillow-like pouch draped with chunky shearling fringing. Capturing one of the biggest trends of the season (that is, fringing), this statement piece comes in bright scarlet red and dark brown as well. Clutch it underneath your arm or adjust the knotted tubular strap and wear it as a shoulder bag.
Available for pre-order online at www.bottegaveneta.com.
Updating one of the biggest cult-favourite it-bags of the aughties (the Balenciaga Classic) in celebration of its 20th anniversary, Balenciaga introduces the new Neo Classic bag. The Neo Classic bag is a structured top handle tote that borrows from the Classic’s iconic silhouette, moto studs, and tasseled zipper-pull. Featuring sharper lines and a sturdier build, the Neo Classic bag updates the famed motorcycle bag with a contemporary finish for modern day sensibilities.

An integral member of Gucci’s archives, the iconic Gucci Jackie bag was created back in the ‘50s before its subsequent rise to mainstream popularity in the ‘60s. A hobo bag cut from flexible plush leather, meant to be effortlessly clutched under the shoulder, the Jackie bag was popularised by the former first lady, Jackie Kennedy – and hence its given moniker. The new reimagined Jackie 1961 preserves the perennial classic’s curved half-moon silhouette and gold-tone clasp, all while updating it with a removable, longer shoulder strap which allows you to tote it as a cross-body bag. The Jackie 1961 is available in three sizes (Medium, Small, and Mini) as well as a variety of colours, but our favourite version is this mini number in glossy leather, rendered in a retro light blue.
