Dawn Koh on how to pull off the crochet trend fashionably

Crochet pieces are getting crazier and craftier. Alberta Ferretti’s macrame blouse – which came with an exaggerated fringe hemline and was paired with trousers and an oversized coat – made us rethink our office outfit pairings. As did Joseph Altuzarra, who styled a bohemian crochet top over a serious white work suit.
Other designers had more casual and colourful iterations, like a fringed crochet maxi dress at Etro. New York-based designer Gabriela Hearst worked on multicolour crochet patchwork motifs (based on an abstract painting that she and her children drew) together with Madres & Artesanas Tex, a Bolivian collective dedicated to the production of high-quality handmade fabrics.
