Crash Landing On You vs. Itaewon Class - find out which reigned supreme in the fashion department

2020 might be having a bad start due to Covid-19 and its implications. But on the Korean drama front, it has been nothing but gold thanks to two popular hits that have graced our screens - tvN's Crash Landing On You and JTBC's Itaewon Class.

Both these productions consisted of a stellar cast that included heavyweights such as Son Ye-jin, Hyun Bin and Park Seo-joon. Beyond that, they both had refreshing, well-developed plot lines that left us wanting more.

Another reason why we love them? The amazing looks that the cast wore.

But did you know, Son and Kim both wore the same outfits in both shows? *Gasp* Ahead, we pit their styling against each other to find out who wore it better.

Look 1: Bottega Veneta Trench Coat

1/3

Do you remember this moment where Son Ye-jin was hunting down the perpetrators that hurt Hyun Bin in South Korea in Crash Landing On You? She donned on the Bottega Veneta 2020 Pre-Spring leather coat with a turtleneck sweater and black Gentle Monster sunnies, which made her nothing short of a powerful woman who you don't want to offend.

In Itaewon Class, Kim Da-mi wore the same coat but due to its short screentime, you might have missed it. Kim chose to wear it open-collared to show off her Tiffany & Co. HardWear necklace, showing off a gentler, more feminine contrast to Son.

Our verdict: It's a little tough to pick a winner. We like Son's sleek ensemble (Kim's accessorising was a little over for us) but the choice of turtleneck that swallowed her neckline made us prefer Kim's more open look.

Look 2: YCH Blazer

2/3

Both Son and Kim played formidable #girlboss characters, which meant that there wasn't a shortage of polished blazer looks. This time they both wore a white blazer from Korean fashion label YCH. As the two aren't that tall, they both wore it as dresses.

Son wore the dress with a girly pink shirt that featured a prominent butterfly bow, while Kim went the more conventionally route with a white shirt underneath.

Our verdict: We liked how Son played with colour choices to play off the blazer's unique design. Plus, we love the dramatic bow.

Look 3: Balmain Blazer Dress

3/3

Upon her return home to the South, Son donned the Balmain black blazer dress with a white shirt and bow detail to commemorate the opening of her new store. On the other hand, Kim wore the exact outfit with black stockings at an appearance.

Our verdict: Perhaps due to the deep V-neckline of the dress, we saw Kim's black innerwear that broke up the original silhouette. Paired with the ponytail, we reckoned she looked a little like a hotel wait staff rather than a fashion influencer. Conversely, Son's interpretation looked both regal and elegant.
