It’s day 30 of 56. *exhales shakily* Now that we are more than halfway through the circuit breaker period, we’ve pretty much gotten into the swing of things. But it hasn’t been easy, especially when a McDonald’s or bubble tea fix is completely out of the picture.

However, Ng Yi Lian, editor of Her World Singapore, is proposing that fashion can do the trick of lifting your spirits. She shows us how, with pops of colour and a healthy dose of imagination, an outfit can instantly boost anyone's mood.

Go all-out with prints

1/20

I find myself gravitating towards colours and prints during CB because fashion does have a positive impact on my mood, and we all need a little boost during these times. This Contemporary Store shirt from Siri House is so comfy for our tropical weather, and I love how crazy the prints are. Since I was in a bit of maximalist mood, I paired it with my Hermes silk twilly scarf.

Swim in pastel hues

5/20

I love the pastel palette and Peranakan shophouse and tile prints on this Binary Style tunic dress. The super lightweight fabric and wide armholes make it the perfect breezy option to work in. It’s pictured here with my favourite Nissin tom yam instant cup noodles. I welcome this flavour as Christmas presents.

Let the travel bug bite

9/20

I REALLY miss travelling. I blasted the AC in my study for a few hours to wear this Bottega Veneta shearling wool coat. Just let me pretend for a few hours.

Turn on beach mode

It’s beach vacation time (in my mind). And what else embodies beach mode more than this Innika Choo cotton dress, Bailey of Hollywood straw hat, and Faithfull the Brand straw bag? I'm ready for you, Bali, Positano, and Miami!

Laze in lace

This outfit is the closest to what I'll actually wear to the office. I love my lace and this Love, Bonito top is pretty without being overly pretty. I paired it with these rayon viscose Contemporary Store tropical print pants that are functional yet comfortable.
