Last month when we shooting our story on luxe-looking but affordable new season workwear, I had a bunch of shoes and bags – also remarkably affordable – to match up with the different looks, but no matter whether it was pants or dress or skirt, I kept coming back to these three pairs of shoes to add just the right touch of current on-trend style.
I even posted a pic on our Instagram account highlighting that these were ‘The only 3 pairs of #shoes you need this season!’ … They truly did make that much of a difference for all the looks.
So, I decided that we really needed to highlight that if you’re looking to invest in new season shoes, you can’t go past these three styles — the platform ankle boot, the platform white leather sneaker, and a platform t-bar heel. WHITE LEATHER PLATFORM SNEAKERS
This pair of white leather platform sneakers from Charles & Keith, $53.90, are the perfect way to tone-down or make more casual any work outfit. White stands out, the leather makes it work appropriate. I love the platform too – it reminds me of the super hot Puma Fenty creepers but at a fraction of the price.
PLATFORM BLOCK-HEEL ANKLE BOOT
The platform is back with a vengeance right now with everyone from Louis Vuitton to Marc Jacobs showing them on the runway, and of course the most famous – and most #OOTD appropriate of them all are the Vetements version. These Chunky Boots by Charles & Keith, $85.90, are literally the perfect way to get the trend and add a bit of edge to any look. We styled them with everything from pretty feminine dresses and skirts to boyfriend style trousers. They’re also surprisingly comfortable since your foot is actually relatively flat inside.
PLATFORM T-BAR OR ANKLE STRAP HEELS
These are the shoes that you add to dress up a basic look like a button-up shirt and joggers, or a more casual loose dress, like we did in the shoot with these Ankle Strap Heels by Charles & Keith, $56.90. The mini platform at the ball of your foot makes them much more comfortable to wear to work, or out dancing. Just don’t pair with a mini or bodycon dress – then you’re more sexy, than on-trend.
