For me, one of the main appeals of fashion is playing a character, and dressing the part. Much like how the Wonder Woman stance is supposed to increase your confidence before you enter a meeting (stand feet apart and hands on hips for 5 minutes) or give a speech, dressing for the role you want is half the game. Dressing up and dressing smart is an empowering way to improve your self-confidence and quite honestly, sometimes we need to look good to feel good. Here we take cues from some of Singapore’s most stylish and talented women (who are running the game in their respective fields) on how dress like a boss for your 9-6!

Rebecca Lim, actress

Singapore’s national darling Rebecca Lim always looks stunning whether on set, en route to the airport or dazzling at a dinner, take inspiration from our favourite #ootds of hers!

Evidence that the perfect LBD and heels can look utterly breathtaking with a smile and sleek hair. Add a pop of pink lipstick to top it off!

Casual Fridays or weekdays when you’re jet-setting off from work require comfortable but cool attire. Here Rebecca shows us how to do airport bound in style with her Boss Bespoke bag, flatforms and a classic denim shirt.

This is how to do monochrome without resorting to boring and overdone black and white! Brilliant nudes and tan suede look incredibly striking!

Nellie Lim, Social media influencer

Nellie makes riding the MRT look like an episode of Sex and the City here in Malaysian designer label Self Portrait. The thigh slits only appear when you walk, so this is a dress you can get away with at work! When you’re stationary, the dress looks like a floor-length number.

Tjin Lee, Entrepreneur, Founder of Mercury Marketing & Comms agency

Ms. Lee is one of our favourite yummy mummies. We’re loving her outfit here as we’re huge fans of turtleneck cuts and sleeveless vests.

Savina Chai, Founder and Creative Director of Eight Slate

The echo of the flared jeans in the sleeves makes this outfit perfect for a powerful entrance. The middle part and sunnies accentuate the killer look. Did you know sunglasses make you look instantly more attractive? They make your face symmetrical and are a necessity in Singapore’s hot and bright weather!

Viola Tan, Co-Founder of Love Bonito

The beautiful and free-spirited cofounder of Love Bonito; we love Viola’s penchant for a classic silhouette. Here she rocks her Hermès Kelly bag with a simple shirt dress and a 50s bouffant-style dress for seriously timeless style.
