Fans of Japanese design will adore Loewe's holiday collection

This year, Loewe’s holiday collection is extra cute thanks to a collaboration with Kyoto-based ceramic studio Suna Fujita

The festive season is upon us and Loewe’s upcoming holiday collection, which launches November 16 at the maison’s physical and online stores, looks likely to put a smile on your giftee’s face.

A stand-out of the collection is a special collaboration with Kyoto-based ceramic studio Suna Fujita, which is known for its whimsical landscapes that are frequently peppered with cute beasts – think sculptures of children riding on giant goldfish, for instance.

Founded in 2005 by the husband and wife team of Shohei Fujita and Chisato Yamano, the duo’s playful vision draws on childhood memories, and life with their son and pet dog to create hand-painted stories on ceramics such as teapots, cups, and plates.

For Loewe, the Japanese studio has applied its joyful, childlike motifs across a range of the maison’s icons, such a Hammock bag depicting a little boy sitting in a cloud-pruned tree with pandas climbing nearby – each detail painstakingly crafted using intricate leather marquetry.
