This month we talk about about the Western trend. Queen Bey is in her cowgirl era and we are all just living in it. At the Grammy Awards earlier this year she debuted her Wild West look in anticipation of her latest album, Cowboy Carter.

You’ll need a cowboy hat

Knowing Beyonce, she was not going to do an expected Western fit. Instead, she slayed it with a modern take and opted for a classic masculine suit and a cowboy hat. Our tip for nailing this trend is to invest in a cowboy hat – Singapore’s scorching weather is the perfect excuse to buy one! Pair it with a basic T-shirt, jeans and boots (it doesn’t even have to be cowboy- inspired), and you’re all set.

You don’t have to go for obvious cowgirl-inspired accessories. Ease into the trend by choosing accessories made of leather, suede and denim, or even a cute bandana.

Invest in a pair of cowboy boots

No cowgirl outfit is complete without a pair of Western boots. The best part? You can wear anything with it – just take a leaf from American model Emily Ratajkowski. You should show off the intricate embroidery of the boots, so short or midi dresses are great outfit choices. But even if you choose to wear a pair of
flared jeans instead, a peek of the boot is also a chic and subtle way to work this trend.

Buckle up, baby!

Another simple but striking way to ace this trend is to take your cue from actor Vanessa Hudgens, who flaunted a bold Western belt buckle with a minimalist ensemble.
