K-Pop celebrities’ “airport style” ‒ the outfits they wear when getting on and off planes ‒ is always a hot issue among people who are interested in fashion. Now top Korean models like Song Hae Na and Irene are also making waves as they make the airport their runway with their chic, fashion-forward look.
Here’s a look at their recent airport looks and some tips on how to get their style.
SONG HAE NA
Song Hae Na has become one of the rising models in Korea after catching the media’s attention in the reality competition TV show “Top Model Korea 2” for appearing in various TV commercials and music videos.
Song was recently spotted at the airport while leaving for Shanghai to attend the Suecomma Bonnie 2014 Autumn Winter presentation wearing a loose-fit hoodie jacket with vintage denim shorts, showing off her great sense of fashion and “Barbie-doll” legs. She completed her stylish sporty look with a big bag and wide brim hat.
Model Irene has been introduced as one of world’s style icons by fashion media in many countries including Korea. She was invited to more than 15 fashion shows during the 2014 Autumn Winter New York Fashion Week as a celebrity guest. You can also catch her on TV as a host of the K-Style programme. Irene recently appeared at the airport, making the media fall in love with her again with her unique style. She matched a casual black leather jacket with black skinny jeans completing her rock-chic all-black look with gold studded sandals. She also emphasised her free-spirited, hipster personality with a snapback and gold, layered rings.
HOW TO GET THE MODELS’ AIRPORT STYLE
If you want to steal their airport looks, pay attention to Stylenanda. Stylenanda is Korea’s largest and best-known online fashion store ‒ which now has it’s own bricks ‘n’ mortar shop ‒ and is also known for its casual, rock-chic style.
Stylenanda’s denim and leather jacket creates a girlish funky look without the need of any fancy accessories, or try an oversized baseball jacket. A sleeveless crop top and short shorts are the best items to match with both jacket styles. It doesn’t steal attention from the leather jacket, and you can emphasise your “feminine charm” at the same time. You can also create a casual daily look by matching a sleeveless crop top with high waist shorts or black skinny jeans.
