Hailee Steinfeld’s Miu Miu campaign has been deemed “irresponsible”.

The press advert for the Prada-owned luxury brand shows the 14-year-old actress seemingly crying on railway tracks.

The controversial image has been banned by Britain’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for showing the young star in a potentially life-threatening situation.

Prada Retail UK insisted that the image was “part of a serious, high-fashion campaign” and “based on the set of an imaginary film”.

The company also claimed that it was clear Hailee “could have easily moved from where she was sitting because she was not restrained in any way”.

However, the ASA ruled that the picture – captured by renowned fashion photographer Bruce Weber – was “irresponsible”, considering her young age.

The news comes after one of the images from fellow teenage actress Dakota Fanning’s campaign for Marc Jacobs’ Oh, Lola! fragrance was banned.

The blonde star was pictured with the bottle of perfume between her legs – which was deemed “sexually provocative”.
