Fast fashion giant H&M has never failed to wow us with its annual designer collaborations. And now, the million dollar question of “who’s next?” is on our minds. Since the brand’s inaugural collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004, a repertoire of fashion houses such as ErdemBalmain, and the likes – have collaborated with H&M to give us their luxe-meets-mass collections.

Alas, it is out that H&M will be teaming up with Giambattista Valli this year. The news was revealed at amfAR gala in Cannes, where Giambattista Valli and H&M’s Creative Advisor Ann-Sofie Johansson made an appearance together with Kendall Jenner, Chris Lee, Chiara Ferragni, H.E.R., Bianca Brandolini d’Adda, and Ross Lynch.

Born and raised in Rome, Giambattista Valli launched his eponymous line in Paris in 2005. The designer is known for his universe of haute cuscading, layered, and puffy gowns that have been donned by some of the world’s most glamorous stars, including Rihanna, Amal Clooney, and Ariana Grande.

If the dressmaker’s name doesn’t ring a bell, you should be more familiar with his works that are commonly spotted on red carpet events. Earlier this month, Lily Collins, Emma Stone, and some 12 other women were dressed by Valli at the Met Gala 2019. Valli also served a long stint at Fendi, where he was the creative director for the influential Fendissime line.

“I am excited about this collaboration: H&M gives me the opportunity to bring my vision of style and my celebration of beauty to a wider audience. The goal is to share my love for beauty and to be able to be part of everyone’s “happy moments”, to help create love stories all around the world,” Valli said.

Come May 25, everyone will get the chance to dress like a superstar in Valli’s eclectic mix of sharpness and frills. Get your hands on must-have pieces from the unique limited-edition pre-drop collection from the Giambattista Valli x H&M collaboration that’s available on Saturday at selected H&M stores and online at hm.com. The main collection launches worldwide on Nov 7, 2019.

Prices range from S$24.95 to S$849.
