Fashion tongue twisters: 10 commonly mispronounced designer names

With more international designer brands like Proenza Schouler setting up shop in Singapore, it seems like our sunny little island is becoming quite the fashion destination.

But if you’ve still got your tongue in a twist when it comes to articulating these high fashion names, you’re far from alone; the gutsy Singaporeans that we’ve quizzed stumbled too, when asked to pronounce these foreign labels.

Not to fret though, we have help on the way. Homegrown creative director Daniel Boey, who has been hailed as the “godfather of Singapore fashion”, is more than happy to share how you can speak of these designer names confidently with your fellow fashionistas. He’s the voice behind our pronunciation guide, as featured in the video below.
