Casual clothing retailer Club Monaco has partnered with street style blogger Tommy Ton for a limited edition women’s messenger bag and a men’s backpack to be unveiled during the ongoing Fashion Week Season across New York and Europe.
Priced at $198 and $225, the bags will go on sale to the public at Club Monaco stores globally as of March 20 — although not before they have been showcased by street style stars from across the globe.
Ton, famed for the Jak & Jil blog, will capture his favorite street style subjects with the bags throughout the fashion capitals’ showcases, which began in New York February 8 and finish in Paris March 7.
Club Monaco will then present a gallery show of Ton’s work at its New York store on March 19.
“This is an especially exciting partnership as Tommy will not only be creating the imagery around this product, but is the first photographer we have ever worked with to create product,” a Club Monaco representative told WWD February 10.
As the status of the fashion blogger becoming increasingly raised, Ton follows in the footsteps of internet stars such as The Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine and Susie Lau of Style Bubble.
Both writers were among the bloggers selected to collaborate with footwear producer Six London and website Farfetch.com on an “ultimate shoe” last November, while Medine also collaborated with Miami-based brand Del Toro on a limited-edition smoking slipper last December. — AFP RELAXNEWS
