An afternoon of scarves with Jim Thompson

Thai silk company Jim Thompson treated invited guests to a Scarf Extravaganza at its award-winning restaurant – Jim Thompson: A Thai Restaurant, located in the hip Dempsey enclave – on December 4, in an exclusive showcase that highlighted its extensive scarf collection.

The event saw the restaurant – which has been voted the best Thai restaurant in Singapore by the Miele Guide – adorned with brightly coloured scarves in a variety of luxe materials, such as silk weaves and cashmere and wool blends.

Noted guests who graced the showcase included the Thai Ambassador and members of the Thai Royal Family, as well as members of the British High Commission, the Embassy of France, and the Indonesian Embassy.

Professional stylists were on-site to provide customised consultations for guests, and models strutted and posed in outfits that were styled with Jim Thompson scarves and other stylish accessories.

The 200-strong crowd was also invited to indulge in an assortment of exquisite canapés and cocktails during the Scarf Extravaganza, all while viewing a handpicked selection of fashion jewellery that had been flown in from Thailand specially for the one-day affair.

The event coincided with the recent opening of the brand’s new flagship store at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, its third retail location in Singapore. And in conjunction with the impending launch of its new Spring/Summer 2011 collection, Jim Thompson will also provide in-store style consultations – by appointment only – beginning in January next year.
