The MTV Video Music Awards is the time of the year when celebrities are expected to throw caution to the wind and show up in outrageous fashion get-ups in a bid to make biggest splash when they step on the red carpet. (Cue lady gaga’s meat gown)

This year we have a clear winner, Miley Cyrus. As the host of the ceremony, there was almost zero chance of her not attending the awards show without a series of insane outfits.

The fashion risk taker racked up whopping total of 10 outfits change, 8 out of which are well … Pretty thought provoking.

Proceed with caution. We are still trying to wrap our heads around these bizarre outfits.

#1 Cyrus graced the red carpet with a custom bondage-inspired chandelier Versace outfit and boots paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. She left very little to the imagination; but then she never does.

#2 Eyes for a bra and red pouting lips for a skirt, with an orange visor to seal the look. This quirky number is by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, a Spanish noble and fashion designer.

#3 I think she took cut-outs and short hemlines waaaaaayyyyy too literally in this outfit. We’re not exactly sure what the pom-poms are about but loving the matching fur scrunchie.

#4 At one point, Cyrus appeared on stage as a rainbow flag. The heart shoes are cute though. This dress is also by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.

#5 Cyrus in a custom made House of Holland bubblegum pink latex bodycon dress with inflatable lettering, which happens to be the title of her latest single. Of course.

#6 Probably the most ‘naked’ dress of the night (Uh huh, alarming standards), this piece is from Mamadoux by Elliott Beach. It was basically a mini PVC dress embellished with what seems like strategically placed giant buttons?

#7 After which, she swapped out of her barely there plastic dress for a belly revealing outfit. It’s a custom Versace pink bondage bra with medusa covering important points. And oh yes, matching metallic pink tuxedo pants.

#8 She closed the night with a performance of her new song, “Do It”, with famous drag queens, from former seasons of “RuPaul’s Drag Race. She was wearing a one-legged leotard from BCALLA and Sophia Webster heels. And was practically fully dressed (at least in comparison to the rest of her outfits!).
