10 most annoying things about women’s clothes (WITH GIFS!)
You know the drill. See the dress, take it down, try it on, only to find out it’s too sheer, too baggy, or has a strange cutout at your waist that doesn’t look so flattering. Here are some pet peeves we have about women’s clothing

If only these things didn’t happen so often, women could cut their shopping time in half. From fake pockets to weird sizing, here are the eight most annoying things about women’s clothes that have us immediately leaving the store.
1. Fake pockets, or no pockets
This cannot be stressed enough. Pockets are great! You can fit things in there. Keep a hamster, maybe even a kitten or two. You can cram your hands in if you feel like it, or stuff something useful in, like keys, cards, cash and loose change. With pockets, the possibilities are endless. No pockets? You absolutely have to bring a bag, and there is no other option.
2. Pockets that go longer than your shorts
I’m glad that we’ve all moved past this trend, though you know you have a pair of these lurking in the back of your closet somewhere. (I’m totally guilty of this.)
3. Tiny pockets
It looks big enough, but in reality it’s only a half-sized, token pocket that’s only fit to hold a paper clip. It might as well not be there at all, and the fashion police should arrest the person who made this for giving us false hope.
4. Arm holes that are way too big
A lot of the time, the cut and sizing of clothing is more suited to the European demographic. (Think Australian brands like Cotton On or John Little’s George, etc) Hence, the holes for your arms are always way too big or the strap of your tank top is always too long. Same thing goes for necklines, waistbands and hems. Nothing fits right! (Unless you look for brands that have their sizes matched to an Asian demographic like Uniqlo, you’re going to keep pulling up that neckline.)
Expectations vs Reality
5. Well-designed, beautiful clothes that are unwearable
You’ve seen the pictures and it looks great on a celebrity/model on Instagram. But on you, it looks like a saggy disaster made of bad fabric decisions and cuts in all the wrong places. It might be great on a hanger (or on a model), but the sad reality is that you’re not a clothes hanger.
6. Clothes that must be layered
Layering is great, but it’s tiring to do all the time. Plus, it’s too coincidental that when you want to layer clothes, you have to buy more clothes. Eh? Ultra cropped sweater tops, cardigans without buttons and anything sheer is the worst when it comes to someone lazy like me.
7. Badly fitting pants
As a gal with a pear shaped body and the height of a regular Asian, it’s pretty hard to find pants that fit right anywhere. Bell bottoms would actually help but there aren’t any made for my length of leg. If I do take a pair of pants for alteration, the “swoop” of the bell bottom becomes too low. I haven’t worn any type of jeans other than slim cut for years. (See also, the bum to waist dilemma.) #firstworldproblems
8. When it comes to size, there are no rules
This annoying thing about women’s clothes is a double edged sword. Depending on the cut, material and stretchiness of the fabric it can go to either extremes. Sometimes when a dress is the wrong size you can try it on anyway and hit the jackpot, but often we waste so much time trying on clothes when guys can grab an M size tee anywhere and be good to go. This is a legitimate reason why we’re shopping so much longer than the boys!
9. Impractical clothes
Sometimes, the most impractical things are the prettiest things. Sleeves that are likely to catch fire or restrict movement are the worst. Sequins and beads that require extra gentle handling and cleaning? Bah.
10. Trends that move too fast
Its tough to keep up with the trends but the thrill of the chase is our calling. We can’t keep up, and we can’t get enough.
