Hari Raya is fast approaching, which means it’s the start of that last-mile rush to get everything in order — from making kuehs and spring cleaning to picking out chic Raya fits, and the list goes on.

But no Hari Raya look will be complete without the finishing touches of a matching henna design. As such, we’ve compiled a list of the best henna artists in Singapore for both trendy and classic designs, who are still taking appointments for this year’s upcoming Hari Raya season.

PS: Don’t forget to bring your henna inspo along!

1. Khair Henna

Established in 2014 by Khairunnisa Chow, Khair Henna has been spreading the beauty of henna for the past decade.

Now in its 11th year, Khair Henna has opened its very own studio and will be offering her henna services for Hari Raya in this cosy space from 27 to 30 March.

Beyond doing henna for Hari Raya, Khair Henna also does bridal henna and conducts henna workshops to share her love for the art.

2. QF Creation

Qidah Fuad is another henna artist with over 10 years of experience — 13, to be exact.

In addition to using the usual organic henna paste, QF Creation also offers the option of using Jagua ink, which comes from a fruit and leaves a blue stain, or a mixture of henna and Jagua ink called Hengua.

Hengua combines the reddish-brown tones of natural henna with Jagua ink’s bluish-black stains to produce a rich dark brown stain.

While you would typically have to top up $5 per hand to change to the Jagua or Hengua ink, QF Creation is offering a free upgrade to these inks when you book a slot for 28 March.

3. Indian Inks SG

For the entire month of March, Indian Inks will be offering their henna services at the Geylang Serai Bazaar from 6:00pm till 10:00pm on weekdays and 4:00pm to 10:00pm during the weekends.

The inks on offer include natural and instant henna, Hengua, and Jagua ink.

From 26 to 30 March, you can even book a slot in advance, for an additional $5, to avoid disappointment. With a roster of at least five artists at any given time during this busy period, you can be assured that you’ll be tended to and have your henna designs ready to flaunt just in time for Hari Raya.

4. Jawayu Henna

Just like last year, Jawayu Henna will be teaming up with Hazzie Henna to bring your henna designs to life, starting from $12 per side of hand.

Choose between intricate or simple designs. If you prefer a rich dark brown stain as opposed to the usual reddish-brown stain of natural henna, opt for their Hengua ink instead.

Slots are open from 28 to 30 March, with a non-refundable deposit of $10.

5. Hennaflair

Like other spots on this list, you’ll have the option of natural henna, Jagua, and Hengua ink to choose from when you engage Hennaflair’s services for Hari Raya.

If you feel like your henna designs are always fading too quickly, Hennaflair’s got you covered with their selection of aftercare products, including an aftercare oil and balm, that will keep your henna stain looking rich and vibrant for longer.

6. The Henna Story

This year, The Henna Story will be collaborating with two other artists, Mehndidles and The Pearly Henna, to provide services in their home studio in Toa Payoh.

In addition to the usual ink offerings, they will also be providing the option of nail henna ($10 per pair of hands) and white henna (an additional $5 per side of hand) for a bold look.

Slots are open from 27 to 30 March but do take note that there’s a non-refundable deposit of $5 per slot.

7. Royal Ink Artistry

Clueless on which henna design to get inked? Consult Royal Ink Artistry or choose from their catalogue of henna flash designs, starting from $10 per side of hand.

Besides offering henna services for eid, Royal Ink Artistry also does Jagua ink temporary tattoos and face painting, so no design will be too out-of-the-box for these artists to handle.

If you’re keen on bringing out the inner henna artist in you, they also sell henna and Jagua ink cones for you to do your own henna at home.

8. Henna Montana

For the Northies, Henna Montana will be opening henna slots for Hari Raya from 26 to 30 March.

In addition to the natural henna ink on offer, you can also top up $7 for Hengua or Jagua henna to achieve deeper, darker, and longer-lasting stains.
