1. Stop rubbing your eyes
When you rub your eyes, it speeds up the formation of wrinkles, and breaks the mini capillaries around your eyes, intensifying the appearance of dark under-eye circles. Also, friction from the rubbing causes inflammation in the skin, causing skin pigmentation to darken, making the skin area around the eyes unevener toned.
2. Use sunscreen
Whether you have a habit or rubbing your eyes or not, the skin underneath your eyes gets darker with age. To avoid the area from getting darker, pat on sunscreen gently under the eyes every day. The sun can darken the skin pigments around your eye area, making dark circles worse. What’s more, sun damage will speed up premature skin ageing, leaving you with fine lines and wrinkles.
3. Always use your ring finger
Your ring fingers are the weakest of all 10 fingers so they will add the littlest pressure on your skin. And that is why you should use them when you apply makeup or skincare.
4. Wear shades
Whenever you head outdoors, wear sunglasses. Like the way sunscreen shields your skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays, sunglasses do the same thing for your skin, and also protects your eyes from premature damage.

5. Use an eye makeup remover
Whenever you feel like skipping the eye makeup remover because you’re lazy tired, don’t. A regular makeup remover is not designed to melt away waterproof eye makeup, and you would most likely end up rubbing your eyes with excess strength (refer to point #1). This would cause inflammation in the skin, leading to pigmentation and wrinkles.
