If we could, I’m sure many of us would want a do-over on 2020. After all, no one could have predicted the pandemic we would be facing now all over the world.
But in the midst of countries and cities undergoing lockdown, big companies and brands have stepped up to do their part in the fight against Covid-19. Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen news about brands, big and small, coming forward to help in their own way.
LVMH, L’Oréal and Clarins have started using their facilities to make hand sanitisers for hospitals and healthcare professionals while Dyson, known for its home appliances, is making ventilators for ICU use.
Closer to home, here are four Singapore-born beauty brands doing their part against Covid-19.
Formulated in Singapore and manufactured in Taiwan, beauty salon Estetica has converted some of its production facilities to making hand sanitisers. From April 1, 2020, customers will get a 50ml bottle of hand sanitiser for every in-store or online purchase made of their in-house Est.Lab products. The brand has produced 2,000 bottles. Limited to one per customer. While stocks last.

Made in IDS Skincare’s own lab in Singapore, the IDS Skincare Moisturizing Sanitiser, $3.90 (10ml) will be available in-store and online from end April. IDS Skincare is the in-house skincare collection of aesthetics clinic IDS Aesthetics.
In addition to its antiseptic benefits, the hand sanitiser also contains moisturising ingredients to prevent over-drying of the skin from the increased hand washing you’ve been doing.
