For many of us, crayons were a huge part of being a little kid. Blank sheets of paper and a box of crayons were the best way to keep us occupied and quiet (before smart phones and tablets were a thing), though everything around us was at risk of being vandalised because of our overactive imaginations.
Crayola were the biggest and baddest colour creators out there, with the best part about their crayons being that they’re non-toxic. So it didn’t matter if we as kids ate bits of crayon (don’t judge us, we know you did it too), because nothing terrible was going to happen…aside from a severe scolding.
But wait…these crayons weren’t just limited to our childhood. As we got older people were using them to make art in newer and more creative ways, even melting them down to create makeup products. We suspect the huge popularity of the latter is the reason the brand has finally decided to come out with a proper lipstick collaboration. Yay to that Crayola.
Fittingly, they’ve partnered with Clinique, whose product range called the Chubby Stick incidentally looks like a bunch of large makeup crayons. They’ve got Chubby Sticks for the lips (both a balm and intense colour version), cheeks, eyes, highlighting, contouring, and even foundation. That’s a whole lot of chubby right there.
Considering we have mad love for the Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms, (they’re easy to apply and nourishing on the lips), the collaboration is everything we could have imagined. It takes you down memory lane, bringing back the nostalgia of childhood imagination, but the product (a lipstick balm) is very much rooted in adulthood. In other words, it’s the best of both worlds.
The collection boasts of limited edition Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour Balms ($28 each), and six shades are available in Singapore. The range was in fact colour-matched and named after some of Crayola’s most iconic shade names, like Marvelous, Tickle Me Pink, and Wild Strawberry.
The limited edition Crayola for Clinique Chubby Stick for Lips will be available exclusively at all Sephora stores nationwide from 2 February 2017. There will also be a limited edition mini set of four ($40) available at Sephora ION and Sephora.sg. It’ll only be on sale for a limited time, so mark your calendars and grab ‘em while you can and get colouring!
