As October is getting closer the world is getting pinker as global companies show their philanthropic streak in the name of breast cancer. International beauty Elizabeth Hurley and beauty company Estée Lauder have once again joined forces in a campaign for fighting breast cancer. “Together we are stronger. Together we can achieve more. Together we can find a cure. Our Breast Cancer Awareness campaign of 2011 encourages people to get together and support family, friends and those close to us to fight this terrible disease”, says Evelyn Lauder, wife of the son of Estée Lauder and one of the people behind the campaign. Since the campaign started in 1993 it has raised about US$50million. Model and actress Elizabeth Hurley is the spokesperson of Estée Lauder and the BCA campaign.

“To extinct this disease we have to be aware of it. Early diagnosis and raising money to find a cure. Ask every woman you know to examine themselves once a month, do a yearly mammography if they are over 40 and help raise money to find a cure,” she says.

Estée Lauder and Estée Lauder owned companies Origins and Clinique will release special Pink Ribbon beauty products to be sold in October, as will hair styling company GHD who will be launching a pink styler. © COVER MEDIA
