From Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, to Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark, we’re fascinated by how these blue bloods (yes, we binge-watched The Crown too) look so poised, polished and expensive. Here’s how to get their looks.

Long, lush lashes

1/5

Heavy eye makeup is frowned upon for female aristocrats, but the lashes should still be lifted and separated. Makeup artist Nikki Fu, who created the looks here, has this tip: Get closer to the lash roots by looking down, then slowly lifting your eyelids. Curl at the root, middle and tip. Coat the roots several times with mascara, but apply less on the tips to avoid a clumpy, spidery look.

Subtly flushed cheeks

2/5

A wash of healthy colour on the cheeks speaks of good living. Fair and cool skin tones should opt for light pinkish blushers, while yellowish or warm tones should choose peachy shades. Stick to delicate colours. “You can also use two blushers of different intensities to contour the face. Apply the lighter one on the apples of the cheeks, and the darker one under the cheekbones,” says Fu.

Bright, defined eyes

3/5

Intensify and sharpen your look by making your eyes more prominent. Apply gel eyeliner on the upper waterline to make lashes look fuller. Fill in along the top lash line, then use a small smudging brush to blend out and soften the line.

Uber groomed brows

4/5

Neat eyebrows point to good grooming. Using a brow powder that matches your hair colour, fill in from the outer tip inwards for a natural, gradated effect. Draw in individual hairs with a fine-tipped pencil and, for a more natural look, soften harsh lines by brushing out with a spoolie brush. Or, save the hassle of doing your brows daily with Browhaus’ Brow Resurrection semi-permanent brow embroidery.

Smooth rosebud lips

5/5

Elegant, understated and natural are the operative keywords here, not overly dramatic. Read: nudes and light pinks. Fu says: “For a natural-looking flush, apply lip colour from the centre of the lips and brush outwards with a lip brush to give gradation.”
