The freedom of movement and the great outdoors have been the inspiration behind Hermes' fashion and lifestyle collections since the brand's inception in 1837. And this aesthetic is captured flawlessly in the third unveiling of Hermes Beauty — the Hermes Plein Air collection.
The full Plein Air range is a collection of five products, but the highlight is the Plein Air Natural Enhancing Complexion Balm. A tribute to the brand's legacy, the balm is actually a buildable pigmented cream that leaves a gossamer-finish, reflecting the flow of being in the outdoors — think of it as a hybrid cream with both moisturising and pigment benefits.
Formulated with hyaluronic acid to keep skin supple and hydrated, it also has evening primrose oil to smooth skin texture. Baikal skullcap extracts ward off the effects of free radicals and environmental stressors. Like the Rouge Hermes lipstick, the Plein Air range also has white mulberry extract, which doubles as both antioxidant and emollient, while soothing irritated skin.

Another plus? Its mineral-based SPF offers SPF30 and PA+++ for both UVA and UVB protection.
The collection of 10 shades (with two more to come later in 2022) covers a gamut of skin tones as each shade adapts to two or three tones. The brand recommends building coverage to cover blemishes, though a concealer will work better for darker spots. Another pro-tip: Yellow-based skin tones or skin prone to foundation oxidising should go one shade lighter. Or if you really want to splurge for perfection, buy both shades and blend.
Its non-comedogenic formula promises eight hours of wear. For best results, finish your look with a dusting of its rosy-gold Radiant Glow Powder or the translucent Radiant Matte Powder.
If you're fond of that luminous sheen fresh from being out in the open, Hermes Plein Air is a must-have.
Hermes Plein Air Natural Enhancing Complexion Balm is priced at $148.
